Breakout Race

This is a high-intensity competitive breakout race drill. Two teams race to complete a patterned breakout and get the puck to the coach on the red dot first. The winning team immediately becomes offense in the other zone while the losing team becomes defense/backcheckers.
Setup:
- Pucks placed on the goal line next to tires on both sides
- 3 players per team lined up on the blue line (D in middle, forward on boards, center swoops low)
- First pass to forward on the boards, second pass to center who then passes to coach on red dot
The team that gets the puck to the coach first becomes offense and attacks in the opposite zone. The other team becomes defense and tries to clear the puck past the blue line.
