Half Ice 3 Stations

Half Ice 3 Stations hockey drill diagram on an NHL-spec rink
Age: U7, U9, U11, U13 Type: Offensive Duration: 24 Players: 5+

A half-ice drill with three stations running at once: shooting, forwards/backwards transitions and an obstacle course.

Red station (neutral zone), three shots:

• The second player in line banks the first puck off the pad for the first player to pick up.

• The first player swoops back around and picks up the second puck the same way.

• On the third puck, the player comes back around the pad and lifts the coach's stick to take the puck, then finishes with a wraparound.

Yellow station:

• Forwards-to-backwards transitions.

• Also start backwards and gain speed before pivoting forwards.

Purple station (obstacle course):

• Through the tires: one leg on either side, stickhandling through. Pucks can be used instead of tires.

• Finish with a give-and-go with the coach.
